Mokonuts is a tiny, much-adored café-restaurant in the 11th arrondissement, at 5 Rue Saint-Bernard near Faidherbe-Chaligny. Run by the husband-and-wife team of chef Omar Koreitem and pastry chef Moko Hirayama, it serves comforting, market-driven lunches that weave together French, Lebanese and Japanese influences — and some of the most famous cookies in Paris.

## What to expect at Mokonuts

Open weekdays for lunch only, Mokonuts offers a short, daily-changing chef’s menu built on seasonal produce, with Levantine warmth and Japanese precision running through the cooking. Hirayama — formerly of Yam’Tcha — is celebrated for her desserts and cookies, which alone draw devotees back time and again. The room is small and the experience personal, so reservations are essential. It is a genuine destination for those who care about thoughtful, soulful cooking.
