Huîtrerie Régis is a tiny, much-loved oyster bar in the 6th arrondissement, at 3 Rue de Montfaucon near Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Marché Saint-Germain. Specialising almost exclusively in top-quality oysters from the Marennes-Oléron region on France’s Atlantic coast, it is a pure, no-frills celebration of one of France’s great pleasures.

What to expect at Huîtrerie Régis

The menu is short and focused: superb oysters sourced daily, served simply with bread, butter and a glass of crisp white wine, plus a few other shellfish. The room is tiny — only a handful of closely packed tables — and reservations are not taken, so there is often a queue. That is part of the charm: this is a place to slurp oysters at the counter or a small table and move on. It is a quintessential Left Bank experience for seafood lovers.
