Five Mistakes People Make Booking a Marais Hotel
- Treating “Marais” in a listing name as proof of location. The district covers the 3rd and the 4th, and plenty of hotels marketed as Marais properties sit outside both. Maison Bréguet, on this very list, is in the 11th.
- Reading Sinner reviews as reviews of what you will get. The building at 116 rue du Temple reopened in 2025 as Experimental Marais with new interiors. Reviews written before that describe a hotel that no longer exists in that form.
- Booking a same-name property by accident. More than one French hotel is called Le Petit Moulin. Check that the address reads 29-31 rue de Poitou, 75003 before you pay.
- Assuming the western-edge hotels put you in the Marais. Les Bains and the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers are both in the 3rd, but their streets sit nearer Arts et Métiers and Étienne Marcel. Allow ten to fifteen minutes on foot to Place des Vosges.
- Expecting a large hotel. Most of these properties have fewer than 60 rooms, and four have fewer than 25. In peak weeks the Marais sells out early, which is why the two biggest addresses are worth checking first.

Which hotels in Le Marais are actually inside the district?
Nine of the twelve on this list are inside the 3rd or 4th arrondissement: Pavillon de la Reine, Hôtel Bourg Tibourg, Experimental Marais, Hôtel du Petit Moulin, Hôtel Jeanne d’Arc Le Marais, Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais, Hôtel de Joséphine Bonaparte, Hôtel Duo and 1K Paris. Les Bains Paris and the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers sit on the district’s western edge. Maison Bréguet is in the 11th arrondissement, not the Marais.
What happened to the Sinner hotel in Le Marais?
It was renamed. The 5-star hotel at 116 rue du Temple traded as Sinner from 2019, and the Experimental Group reopened it as Experimental Marais in 2025 after a redesign by Tristan Auer, who had designed the original. It still has 43 rooms and an indoor pool. Booking.com continues to list it under its old Sinner web address.
What is the cheapest hotel in Le Marais?
Of the hotels reviewed here, Hôtel Jeanne d’Arc Le Marais at 3 rue de Jarente, 75004, is the cheapest address. It is a 3-star hotel with 34 rooms a short walk from Saint-Paul station. Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais, 12 rue Vieille-du-Temple, is the other 3-star option, with 19 rooms.
Which Marais hotel is closest to a metro station?
Hôtel de Joséphine Bonaparte, at 10 rue d’Ormesson in the 4th, is about 80 metres from Saint-Paul station on line 1. Hôtel du Petit Moulin is roughly a five-minute walk from Filles du Calvaire in the Haut Marais.
Is Le Marais a good area to stay in Paris?
It works well as a base if you want to walk. Place des Vosges is about twenty minutes on foot from Notre-Dame, and the district itself holds the museums, galleries and restaurants most visitors are heading to. The trade-off is size: the hotels here are small, most under 60 rooms, so they book out earlier than larger hotels elsewhere in the city.

Every address, star rating and room count in this guide was checked against each hotel’s own website or its Booking.com listing on 24 August 2026. Star ratings are the French official hotel classification, awarded by Atout France, not a review score. Arrondissement assignments come from the postcode: 75003 is the 3rd, 75004 the 4th, 75011 the 11th. Le Marais is treated here as the area covered by the 3rd and 4th arrondissements, which is how the City of Paris describes it.
Nightly rates are deliberately not quoted. Paris hotel prices move daily and by season, and a figure published here would be wrong within a week; the booking links carry live rates instead. Where sources disagree on a fact, both numbers are printed rather than averaged — that applies to the room counts at Maison Bréguet (50 or 53) and 1K Paris (48 or 52). Hôtel Bourg Tibourg does not publish a room count, so the table says so instead of guessing.
