Two Days in Paris: Making the Most of Your Adventure!

Hey there, fellow travelers! If you’re planning a whirlwind trip to Paris with your kids, you might find yourself in a bit of a pickle when trying to fit everything you want to see into just two days. Trust me, I’ve been there! So, let’s dive into my recent struggle with managing my itinerary for the ultimate Paris adventure.

So here’s the scoop: I accidentally booked my visit to the Eiffel Tower on a Monday, not realizing that the d’Orsay Museum would be closed. Facepalm, right? Now I’ve got my kids, ages 10 and 8, and we’ve got to make these two days count!

After a lot of brainstorming and planning, I’ve carved out an itinerary that balances art, history, and fun for my little ones. Let’s break it down:

Wednesday, May 28 – A Day of Culture and Play

  • 10:00 AM: We kick off our day at the magnificent Louvre Museum—tickets? Check! This is where the kids can marvel at the Mona Lisa and let their imaginations run wild.
  • 2:00 PM: Next up, lunch in the vibrant Latin Quarter! It’s a great spot for some delicious French cuisine, and the atmosphere is just delightful.
  • 2:30 PM: After filling up, it’s time for a well-deserved break. We’ll relax at the stunning Luxembourg Gardens. The playground here is a hit with the kiddos, plus there’s plenty of open space to run around and let off some steam.
  • 4:00 PM: Now onto the must-see—Musée d’Orsay! The challenge here is squeezing this in after a busy morning, but I’m determined to make it happen. With its incredible collection of Impressionist art, it’s something I definitely want to share with my kids.
  • 6:00 PM: After soaking in all that culture, we can either grab a bite nearby or head back to our Airbnb to recharge for the next adventure.

Thursday, May 29 – A Day of Exploration and Shopping

  • Late morning: We’re starting off in the charming streets of Montmartre, taking in all the art and the views from Sacré-Cœur. The kids will love the lively atmosphere!
  • 2:00 PM: Lunch in Montmartre fuels us up before we tackle the next adventure!
  • 3:00 PM: Shopping time! We’ll head to Galeries Lafayette—because who doesn’t want to explore a fabulous department store while in Paris?
  • 6:00 PM: We’ll wrap up the day with a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, which is open until 10:00 PM. Maybe we’ll even grab an early dinner with a rooftop view, either at Galeries Lafayette or near Notre Dame, to soak in the beautiful Parisian skyline.

Now, I know you might be wondering if packing d’Orsay on Wednesday is too much. Honestly, I think it’s doable, especially since my kids are quite the troopers. It may feel a bit packed, but hey, we get to experience a whole lot!
